Why the Name - Christ's Church of the Jesus Hour ?

The name, Christ's Church of the Jesus Hour was given to our Founder, Rev. Russell W. Davis, Sr., by the Lord.

“His spirit gave me the understanding that the Church belonged to the Lord Jesus Christ.  He purchased it with His own precious blood.  This is HIS hour.  The church should have His name – the Christ’s Church of the Jesus Hour.

“In an hour that ye think not, the Son of Man will come.”

The Bible makes many references to “TIME”.  The Psalmist said, “So teach us to number our days that we might prepare our hearts unto wisdom”. (Psalms 90:12)  And again, “The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they may be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is cut off, and we fly away”.  (Psalms 90:10)

Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke more specifically; not just in term of days and years, but rather about “HIS HOUR”.  “In an hour that ye think not, the Son of Man will come.”

The Bible also speaks to our use of “TIME” – both wise and unwise, and the reward or punishment that accompanies them.  In Matthew 24:45-47, Jesus speaks to those who honor time, and their reward.  “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.  Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.”

That is in contrast to the misuse of time and the resulting punishment reflected in Jesus’ example in Matthew 24:48-51.  “But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken:  The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of.  And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites:  there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
